Seasons's Greetings from the Sanctuary!

The winter is especially hard on the residents at Mindy's Memory. The cold temperatures drive the monkeys into their heated houses, but heat comes at a cost. Our propane and electric bills are high.

The special need of every monkey is checked on by Linda and Nancy every day. The freezing temperatures don't stop the monkeys from needing to be fed and water provided. Water bottles are put up and filled, only to need to be taken down because they are frozen solid during the night. Continued freezing temperatures often means taking bottles of warm water out to each monkey for an individual drink.

In this time of giving, please do not forget to include the monkeys. Monetary donations are always welcome, but plenty of items you might have lying around the house can make life easier at the Sanctuary.

If you have any item that can be donated, please don't hesitate to contact us!

Mindy's Memory Primate Sanctuary brought two monkeys retired from research to a new happy home.

MMPS in Newcastle Ok provides a healthy, safe, and humane environment for abused and abandoned primates. A NAVS sanctuary fund grant provided for the transportation and care of two female rhesus macaques named Pickles and Olive who were released from a research facility on the East Coast. The grant was especially important because for Pickles and Olive, it meant the difference between getting a second chance at life and being euthanized. Go to www.youtube.com and search for Pickles and Olive to watch a release video of their arrival.

"When we receive a call here at MMPS about research monkeys being released, we always know that we can depend on NAVS, who cares about these research monkeys as much as we do. Now, thanks to NAVS, they have already adjusted to their new home. It is such a pleasure to see them enjoy all of the new space, enrichment, and companionship here at MMPS. Thank you NAVS, for making this a reality for Pickles and Olive!" Linda Barcklay, Directory MMPS.
